船 The Boat

輕輕的波浪,搖蕩著小船。 贈我爸爸六十載歡笑。
萬家燈火, 不理世事回漩, 滾滾紅塵, 痴痴笑笑。

滔滔的狂潮, 衝擊著大船。 我告別二十載歡笑, 破笑為愁。
告別了香江,燈火暗盤旋, 滔滔不絕二十載, 懷疑育深仇。

The Boat

The gentle waves swayed the small boat. It gave my father sixty years of laughter.
Thousands of lights were shining. He ignored the turbulence of the world. Billowing in the joy of living, he laughed freely.

The surging frenzy hit the big ship. I said goodbye to the joy.
Laughter turned to grief. I said goodbye to the beautiful harbour. The lights swirled into darkness. Twenty years of doubts nurture the hatred.

We came by different boats. We went in the same kind of boat.
We came by accident. It was inevitable that we would leave.

My dad came in a swaying small boat, facing the gentle waves.
I fled in a big boat, facing stormy and rough seas.

The giant ship smashed into boats, large and small. The huge waves shattered the beautiful body.
The storm blew away the beautiful miracle. Heavy rain drowned the questions, big and small.

We came by different boats. We went in the same kind of boat.

靈感–寶覺小學成立於1931年，當時是一所女子免費佛教學校，至今已有90年曆史。 鳳凰木也稱為Royal Poinciana； 它有明亮的紅色花朵，可以散佈到60尺寬。 我在那裡度過了很多快樂的時光。 Inspiration – Po Kok Primary School, founded in 1931 as a free and Buddhist school for girls in Hong Kong, turned 90 years. The Phoenix tree is also called the Royal Poinciana; it has clusters of bright red flowers, and can spread up to 60 feet wide. I spent a lot of my happy time there.
